The following are barcode printers that are recommended for use with the BellHawk software. These printers can use both direct thermal and thermal transfer printing modes. The use of a thermal transfer process is recommended to ensure the production of durable and high-quality labels that will stand up to the rigors of industrial use. These printers will print labels up to 4 inches wide.
These industrial printers communicate with the BellHawk server over a wired or wireless LAN network or can be connected to a PC via its USB port. They are used in conjunction with the BarTender Automation software, which is used for label layout and to provide efficient high-speed print drivers.

The rugged and durable Zebra ZT410 is ideal for bench top use in locations such as shipping, receiving and production. It uses
a 203dpi print head and can print labels up to 4" wide at 14" per second. It can take spools of labels up to 8 inches in diameter.
It comes with a 10/100 Ethernet LAN port. Street price $1,745 each with rewind spool and tear bar. Optionally the ZT410 is available with 300 or 600 dpi print heads for producing high resolution labels. Also optional cut and peel attachments are available. This unit can also be fitted with an attachment for encoding RFID tags. |

For lower cost/lower volume applications, we recommend the Zebra TLP-2844 203 dpi bench-top printer with a USB interface that plugs into a PC. Street price $595 each with USB interface. |

The Zebra
P4T is a wireless mobile barcode label printer that is designed for industrial use. It enables mobile users
to print rugged thermal offset labels without returning to a desktop printer.
This 802.11 b/g connected printer has a 203dpi print head and prints at 1.5" per second.
It has an integral label peeler, a Lithium-Ion battery and comes with a
shoulder strap. Street price is $1,495 each. An AC adaptor or fork-lift truck mount are available, as are spare batteries and battery chargers. An RFID tag encoding attachment is also available. |
In addition, to use BellHawk with any of these (or any other) barcode printers, clients will need to purchase a copy of BarTender Automation from Seagull Scientific. This program is used to lay out label formats and provides barcode printer drivers for a wide-range of barcode printers. BarTender Automation for up to 3 printers is available for a street price of $795.
